From the “Paris of the Prairies,” Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Adam Johnson is an up-and-coming country musician who grew his roots in rock ‘n’ roll. Adam started writing music at an early age, trying to emulate early 2000’s rock that first fostered his passion for music. As he grew, his influences evolved to the likes of Dylan and The Tragically Hip as he continued to hone his burgeoning writing ability. In high school, Adam continued to expand his musical interests, developing a love for country music. The likes of Kenny Chesney and Dierks Bentley became mainstays of his summer soundtracks.
Adam began writing country music in early 2020 and started pursuing a career shortly after. This meant navigating the industry and trying to gain a foothold during a global pandemic. Despite the challenges the Pandemic brought, Adam finally released his debut single, “Come On Let’s Go,” to radio and streaming services on May 28th, 2021. He pulls influence from a litany of works, but modern country—like Dierks Bentley—and classic rock—like The Rolling Stones—shine through strongest in his debut song.
“Come on Let’s Go” is a bombastic party song, perfect for the world as it begins to open its doors, post-pandemic. The driving rock rhythms mixed with the fun, upbeat country lyrics make for a great road trip song, and the “live it up” mantra could not come at a better time. Stylistically, the song is Dierks Bentley meets George Canyon. Inspired by long weekends, road trips, and a vacation to Las Vegas, the excitement shines through thanks to the lyrics and pounding drum beat creating a perfect summer jam.
