Amy Nodwell and Scotty Kipfer friendship goes back to 2007 when they met for their first meeting to write and explore the possibility of starting a band. They wrote lots, played shows, and recorded demos together for years until circumstances forced the pair to part ways. Amy would focus on her career in marketing, and Scotty would continue to pursue the country music business – eventually releasing a solo project in 2018 that would earn him his first Canadian Country Music Award nomination. Amy and Scotty would continue to write sporadically, but it seemed their days as a duo were numbered.
That is, until recently when a love for the music they created brought them together again.
“I was in Nashville shooting a music video, and I remember having all our old songs running through my head,” says Kipfer. “I called Amy that afternoon and asked if she ever thought about giving the project another go. We were both really excited about the idea, and most importantly, the timing finally felt right.”
When Scotty got back from Nashville, the duo picked up exactly where they left off. They sang through their old material, and decided it was time to record and finally release music to the world. Second Chance Dreamers was born that day.
